A frustrating clear display box making process

I’ve been thinking of how I would use this blog for a long time. And because I’m overthinking, I haven’t come to a decision of my one, sole purpose of this blog. I considered to write about the process of the doll making or maybe sharing some doll pattern, in a more formal manner, but… Nah, I’m just not too sure. I think I’m just going to use this blog just like usual: to “record” one part of my life (a.k.a as a crafter).

So today I just want to express the frustration of making a clear display box for my dolls.
I purchased three different sizes of clear display boxes from an online store in Surabaya for my graduation doll series. They’re perfect—all I have to do is just fold the pattern. But of course, the wrong is on me and I just realized it two days ago that I have purchased the wrong size—the biggest one.

I should’ve purchased a 23 cm-tall box, but what I have purchased is a 19 cm-tall box.

The biggest size of my graduation doll is 20 cm-tall.

It doesn’t fit.

I was so mad… at myself.

So I have come to a conclusion that I have to make the display box, once again, by myself.

I mean, Yun, come on, you purchased those clear display boxes online so you don’t need to make it on your own. What have you done?

I have said this so many times but making a clear display box is FRUSTRATING. If you make wrong measurement, all will go in vain. If you make a wrong cut, you’re doomed.

And of course I made a wrong cut!

When I tried to fold the plastic sheet, it broke apart because I didn’t make the cut deep enough. When you try to fold a plastic sheet like this, you have to make sure you make a proper cut so it won’t break apart the plastic sheet.

So instead of finishing it in half on hour, it took me around two hours, including the time I wasted for getting mad at myself.
